Terms of Use
These terms set out how the Tycoon Workshop site works and what you can expect when you ask the studio to quote on joinery, restoration or a Saturday hand-tool session. They apply to anyone browsing the site or sending an enquiry from Johannesburg or elsewhere in Gauteng.
Last reviewed for the current site build. If anything here is unclear, write to us before you book or send a request.
Using the site
The pages here describe the studio, the commissions it takes on and the timber it keeps in stock. You may read, share and reference them freely. You may not copy the text, images or stock list into another site, or present the workshop's work as your own.
Quotes and site visits
A quote follows a site visit across Gauteng and a look at the piece or space, whether that is built-in cupboards, a kitchen island, a shopfitting counter or repair work on older solid-wood furniture. Nothing on the site is a binding offer, and a written quote only becomes an agreement once both sides confirm it.
Timber stock list
The running stock list shows what is on the racks, mainly oak, ash and reclaimed Oregon pine. It is indicative only. Listing a board does not reserve it, and quantities change as commissions move through the bench.
Hand-tool sessions
Saturday morning sessions are capped at six people and must be booked in advance. Places are held for the person who booked them. If you cannot attend, tell us so the slot can go to someone else.
Responsibility and limits
We describe materials and methods as accurately as we can, but timber is a natural material and grain, tone and movement vary from board to board. The studio is not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the site or from delays outside its control, such as timber supply or access to a site. Nothing here removes rights you hold under South African consumer law.
Changes and legal contact
We may update these terms as the studio's services change, and the current version always sits on this page. Questions about the terms, or about a commission already in progress, can go to

or by phone on
